Samsung releases new set of on-the-job monitors
Connecting state and local government leaders
Three new lines of LED monitors have thin bezels, adjustable stands and offer ultra-low standby energy consumption.
Samsung Electronics has announced three new lines of business-class monitors featuring the latest in LED technology. The new SC200, SC450 and SC650 series monitors feature slim profiles and ergonomic designs that occupy smaller footprints than previous LCDs.
They are designed with thinner bezels which makes them easy to install in a multiple-monitor arrangement, increasing the users' screen real estate. Ergonomic stands in all the models tilt for comfortable viewing in a variety of applications, while the SC450 and SC650 series also include a fully height-adjustable stand with swivel and rotate features for increased flexibility.
Innovative features like the ultra-low standby energy consumption of 0.1 watts, compared to the 0.5 watts common in the industry, ensure lower energy footprint over the life of the product, even when the monitor is not in use. With LED backlight technology, the monitors use 30 percent to 50 percent less power than conventional CCFL monitors, plus the ECO features further reduce energy usage by an additional 20 percent to 50 percent.
SC200 Series
The SC200 Series offers an affordable option, with a thin bezel design, matte display and cable management features that help clear the clutter from a workspace. It has a low-glare panel, slim profile and front-mounted tactile buttons, and comes in sizes from 18.5 inches to 23.6 inches. Prices range from $99 to $189. They are available now.
SC450 Series
The SC450 Series has a height-adjustable stand and pivot feature that allows users to easily position the display. With a true swivel stand, the monitor can be turned to the left or right without concern about anything getting in the way around the base. Moreover, much of the SC450 Series is TAA compliant, which means government agencies now have an even broader selection of monitors to choose from. They are available now in sizes between 19 inches and 27 inches. Prices range from $129 to $349.
SC650 Series
Designed for business users working in environments that demand more accurate image reproduction, the SC650 Series utilizes an upgraded panel technology. Higher static contrast, more accurate color and a low-glare panel provide an improved image over standard TN-based monitors, realizing a more true-to-life image. The 27-inch model also provides a 5000:1 static contrast ratio, enabling high quality grayscale rendering. Plus, with 178-degree wide viewing angle, the image stays more stable and accurate at off angle viewing.
The SC650 series also features enhanced connectivity, with Display Port, HDMI and VGA inputs as well as built-in speakers in many models. All SC650s feature LED-backlit technology, a fully adjustable stand with swivel feature, a thin bezel with a slim profile, a low-glare panel and front-mounted tactile buttons. They range in size from 21.5 inches to 27 inches, and are scheduled to be available this summer for between $229 and $399.
