NASA deputy CIO David Nelson last month took over as director of the National Coordination Office for IT R&D. He replaced Cita Furlani, who had headed the office since October 2000.

NASA deputy CIO last month took over as director of the National Coordination Office for IT R&D. He replaced , who had headed the office since October 2000.Nelson also will become co-chairman of the National Science and Technology Council's 12-member interagency working group on IT R&D. Nelson had worked as NASA's deputy CIO for IT security since 1999 and co-chaired the Large Scale Networking Coordinating Group from 1995 to 2000., chief technology officer of the Environmental Protection Agency, will join Digital Net Inc. of Bethesda, Md., Feb. 1 as vice president of consulting services. Stouffer, who also is president of the Association for Federal Information Resources Managers, became EPA's first CTO last May after serving as the Housing and Urban Development Department's deputy CIO since 1999., director of professional development for the General Services Administration, is on a 30-day detail with the White House's Office of Homeland Security, assisting the office in creating an enterprise architecture for the new Homeland Security Department. He will be with the office until the department is launched Jan. 24. , former chief computer scientist at the Patent and Trademark Office, is the Interior Department's new chief technology officer.Former Agriculture Department CIO is now president of Acquisition Solutions Inc. of Oakton, Va. Reed retired from Agriculture in 2000, after a 20-year career in government. She headed EDS Corp.'s state and local group before joining Acquisition Solutions.
