FCS deal. Raytheon Co. recently won two major contracts under the Army's $14.92 billion Future Combat Systems program.

. Raytheon Co. recently won two major contracts under the Army's $14.92 billion Future Combat Systems program. The lead systems integrator team of Boeing Co. and Science Applications International Corp. selected Raytheon to build the Battle Command Mission Execution component for FCS under an estimated $40 million contract.Raytheon also will serve as ground sensor integrator for the program under a $50 million contract, Raytheon officials said.BCME is part of a command and control system intended to give warfighters a complete, integrated battlefield picture. Raytheon leads a team of contractors that includes Lockheed Martin Corp. and SAIC.As ground sensor integrator, Raytheon will develop an architecture and integrate sensors that will support the Army's effort at transformation, the company said in a press release.'This integrated network of sensors will span the gamut of ground platforms to give warfighters knowledge dominance over any adversary and to facilitate faster, more decisive operations,' said Jack Costello, Raytheon's vice president for Army transformation.FCS will link 18 manned and unmanned advanced warfighting vehicles and sensors on a network.First step. The Army recently completed the first phase of its deployment of the 10-year, $680 million Wholesale Logistics Modernization Program, according to the lead contractor on the program.. officials said it finished pilot deployments on July 7 at the Army's Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) at Fort Monmouth, N.J.; Army Materiel Command headquarters in Alexandria, Va.; Tobyhanna Army Depot, Pa.; Army Security Assistance Command at Fort Belvoir, Va.; Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Arlington, Va.; and the Army's Soldier and Biological Chemical Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.The enterprise resource planning system, originally slated to begin operation in February, culls data from two 30-year-old mainframe databases, the Commodity Command Standard System and the Standard Depot System. The legacy Cobol systems process data in batches using flat files. LOGMOD is intended to track assets, orders and deliveries worldwide more quickly and accurately than the legacy systems. The delays occurred as developers ironed out interface problems and subcontractor SAP America Inc. of Newtown Square, Pa., worked to customize the system, said Larry Asch, chief of the program's Business and Operations Office at CECOM.'This ERP implementation is one of the largest and most complex ever,' said Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's Federal Section unit. 'The Logistics Modernization Program will result in a modern system that will deliver the Army's equipment and spare parts more efficiently and transparently than ever before.'. The Defense Department's Joint Program Office has awarded a task order to a team led by SRA International Inc. for systems engineering and program support services. The task order was awarded July 16 under the General Services Administration's Federal Supply Schedule. It is worth an estimated $41 million over five years. The $5.7 billion JTRS program will feature an architecture to let service members on the battlefield, in combat vehicles and at command posts communicate across different channels and legacy systems.SRA's team includes Aeronix Inc. of Melbourne, Fla., Alion Science and Technology of McLean, Va., Blue Collar Objects Inc. of Fairfax, Va., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. of McLean, Va., Dynamics Research Corp. of Andover, Mass., Galaxy Scientific Corp. of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and LOG.SEC Corp. of Warrenton, Va.
