VirtualCOOP uses virtual private networking to so workers can remotely access network resources; MeetingPlace Crisis Management can establish a secure conference line and automatically dial up an emergency response team.
Nampa, Idaho-based MPC Computers will debut its new TransPort X3100 and U1000 notebook computers. The former includes multilevel security, including a smart-card reader and fingerprint scanner; the latter is an under-4-pound ultraportable. Both use Intel's newest Centrino mobile processing platform. MPC recently agreed to be acquired by HyperSpace Communications of Greenwood Village, Colo.
Laserfiche of Long Beach, Calif., will show off version 7.1 of its document management platform, in- cluding Laserfiche Records Management 7.1. The records management product brings together document management functionality and compliance with the Defense Department's 5015.2 standard.
Meganet Corp. of Los Angeles plans to demonstrate an encrypted cell phone. The company's VME Cell adapter and compliant cell phone scramble calls using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard. VME Cell also uses the Diffie-Hellman protocol for ex- changing secure keys.
MicroMain Corp. of Austin, Texas, will walk people through the latest version of its MicroMain XM version 6.2, a maintenance and asset management system now available on MicroMain's GSA schedule. The company will also demo xmMobile for Pocket PC, which supports maintenance worker input on Palm OS or Pocket PC-based handhelds.
PaperThin Inc. of Quincy, Mass., will demonstrate CommonSpot 4.5, its latest content management platform. The new version includes a useful taxonomy module to help agencies record their Web vocabularies and relationships. Taxonomies can then be exported to XML.
Silver Spring, Md.-based E-Management Inc. will unveil its new e-Gov Risk Portfolio Manager, a Web-based application for tracking, monitoring and managing government IT programs. The program complies with Office of Management and Budget requirements for assessing risk and allows agencies to meet certification and accreditation requirements under National Institute of Standards and Technology special publication 800-37.
Columbia, Md.-based Tenable Network Security Inc. plans to show its Tenable Lightning 3.0 and Tenable Thunder 1.1. The Lightning product is an enterprise security management platform that now includes network-based patch management and policy-compliant configuration monitoring.
