Debra Filippi is leaving the Defense Information Systems Agency to become the new Defense Department lead for terrorism information-sharing.

Debra Filippi is leaving the Defense Information Systems Agency to become the new Defense Department lead for terrorism information-sharing.


Filippi, head of Net-Centric Enterprise Services at DISA, has been appointed to the deputy CIO team in the office of John Grimes, Defense CIO and assistant secretary of Defense, networks and information integration. In her new role, Filippi will be responsible for implementation of Executive Order 13388, Further Strengthening the Sharing of Terrorism Information to Protect Americans.


Becky Harris, who had been working in DISA's Global Information Grid Enterprise Services Engineering Directorate, has been named principal director for the net-centric enterprise services program, replacing Filippi.


David Mihelcic, DISA's chief technology officer, will assume Harris' position as principal director for the GIG engineering directorate.


Cindy Moran, who has been working as DISA's deputy CIO and vice director of strategic planning and information, is being promoted to chief of the Center for Network Services. She succeeds Rickie Fleming, who has taken a job in the private sector.


In related news, retired Lt. Gen. Harry Raduege Jr., former director of DISA, has joined Deloitte & Touche LLP as chairman of the new Deloitte Center for Network Innovation. The center will focus on developing solutions for increasingly interdependent technology systems.


Raduege retired in August 2005 after 35 years in the military. DISA was his final command post, where he led DOD's net-centric operations. He simultaneously served as commander of the Joint Task Force-Global Network Operations, which is responsible for operating and defending the GIG, the worldwide communications network supporting strategic, operational and tactical needs of the military.
