Government Computer News was named one of the top 10 business magazines of the year in its circulation class and won eight other awards for editorial excellence at the 28th Annual Azbee Awards of Excellence presented July 20 by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).

Government Computer News was named one of the top 10 business magazines of the year in its circulation class and won eight other awards for editorial excellence at the 28th Annual Azbee Awards of Excellence presented July 20 by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).

GCN's sister publications, Washington Technology and Government Leader, also picked up awards, giving PostNewsweek Tech Media 11 awards'the highest total for any publisher in the government IT marketplace.

ASBPE's Awards of Excellence recognize the nation's business-to-business publications and their Web sites for editorial excellence and design. Among publications with 80,000-or-more circulation, GCN won national awards for Best News Section, Best Government Coverage, Best Feature Series and Best Front Cover. Washington Technology won for Best Government Coverage among publications with less than 80,000 circulation.

PostNewsweek Tech Media also did well in regional awards, with GCN winning another four awards and Government Leader winning two.

Earlier this year, GCN won two Jesse H. Neal Awards from American Business Media for outstanding news coverage, for its report on the FBI Virtual Case File system and for its series 'Port Insecurity.' Washington Technology also won a Neal Award for best single issue in its circulation category for its May 23, 2005, edition.
