Asempra unveiled Business Continuity Server 2.7, a tool to help organizations recover Microsoft applications and data in seconds.

Asempra today debuted its Business Continuity Server (BCS) Version 2.7, a tool designed to recover Microsoft applications and data in the event of a disaster or human error. The product lets organizations run Microsoft Exchange or SQL within seconds of a major disruption, according to company representatives.

BCS 2.7 eliminates the need to buy and manage multiple data protection and recovery products, Asempra officials said. It offers full support for both Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange 2007, a plus for customers who are upgrading to Exchange Server 2007.

The risk of downtime and data loss is at its highest when organizations are upgrading or change their environments, leaving them vulnerable to business disruptions. Deploying BCS 2.7 before migrating to Exchange 2007 guards against this, Asempra said.

The release also provides new storage capabilities to support customer data growth while ensuring data accessibility and data and application recovery in the event of a system failure.
