Follow the GCNLabGuys to keep up the the latest from the lab.

Want to know what just exploded in the lab? What cool products just came in and are about to go under the knife? You can now follow up-to-the minute reports in the GCN Lab’s brand new Twitter feed.

On Twitter, we’re GCN Lab Guys now, and both myself and Greg Crowe will do our best to keep everyone updated with all the happenings around the crazy work we do in the GCN test lab. A lot of the tweets will be hints as to what we’re working on, like the fact that the brand new Fluke Networks LinkRunner AT Network Auto-Tester just arrived for review, and we couldn’t wait to rip it out of its shipping box. But we did pause long enough to send out the tweet.

Other items you might find on there are things like our impressions on the latest technology news, like the fact that the new iPhone 5 might be made of Liquidmetal, or our behind the scenes thoughts as we preview Windows 8. A lot of what we are going to put on the Twitter feed for you will also be covered in print, but not everything. Sometimes in the middle of testing we have these random thoughts, or moments of anger, or confusion or all of the above. What better way to capture that moment for all eternity than to tweet it?

Personally, people have always told me that they think working in the test lab would be really cool, and it is, and not all that dangerous even though our lab coats are fire-resistant and acid-proof. Twitter makes for a nice way to share what’s going on in almost real time. We just have to train ourselves to tweet first, then call 911.
