RAR Repair can restore corrupted files even if they're compressed and password-protected.

RAR files and their cousins, Zip files, are used by almost everybody who needs to compress files to transport large data sets. 

But RAR files are vulnerable in unique ways. All it takes is for someone to accidentally drop a drive or to fail to stop services before ripping a drive out of a USB port, and a file archive within can become corrupted. Fixing a corrupted file is not always an easy process if those files have been compressed inside an archive. The uncompressing process could damage them further or prevent them from uncompressing at all.

The software works with all versions of WinRAR archive files, including the very latest WinRAR 5.x releases. The software can also process password-protected archives.

Before purchasing the software, users will know exactly how successful the data recovery efforts will be. The software has an easy-to-use interface to go along with what is a fairly complicated process. Users can simply point to the damaged archive, and DataNumen RAR Repair will recover the damaged files. RAR Repair is also fully integrated with Windows Explorer, allowing users to right-click an archive and access the repair software immediately from the context menu. Drag-and-drop operations are supported, along with command-line batch processing.

The software works with modern drives as well as out-of-date media like floppy disks and Zip disks. It can handle files as large as large as 17 billion gigabytes, making the realistic maximum file size it can work with functionally unlimited.

DataNumen RAR Repair Version 2.1 runs under Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2003/2008/2012. The program is priced at $49.95 for a single-user license. Multiuser discounts are available for agencies that want to purchase multiple copies.
