GammaTech Computer Corp. has developed four commercial-off-the-shelf configurations of its Durabook R11 tablets to meet the different needs of public safety professionals.

The R11 tablet with a 11.6" widescreen display weighs 2.73 pounds and is the thinnest rugged tablet in its class, the company said. It can be mounted in a vehicle running mobile dispatch and mapping applications or used outside collecting field data, all the while maintaining real-time remote communications.
"Our bundled R11 tablet configurations help take the guess work out of choosing the right product setup, while still providing an array of features and options for exact-fit customization," said Jen Chen, GammaTech president. "Certified to stringent MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD- 461F and IP65 specifications, bundled R11 tablet configurations are a perfect match to meet public safety's demanding requirements to perform 24x7 in daily operations, regardless of location or environmental condition."
Bundles can also be customized by departments as needed. The configurations are:
Standard Configuration for Public Safety, which includes an Intel Haswell Core™ i5 processor, 4GB DDR3 and 128GB SSD, capacitive multitouch sunlight panel, 802.11ac/a/b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth and Windows 7 Pro 32 or 64 bit. It comes with a three-year warranty and retails for $2,199.
Smart Card Technology, a version that includes all the features of the standard R11 configuration plus a smart card reader for $2,398.
FirstNet Ready Tablet, which includes all the features of the standard R11 configuration plus RF pass-through (WWAN/GPS), 4G LTE with GPS. It retails for $2,699.
FirstNet Ready Tablet with an upgraded processor, which includes all the features of the standard R11 configuration plus a 4th generation Intel Haswell Core i7 processor, RF pass-through (WWAN/GPS) and 4G LTE with GPS for $2,999.
Options for the Durabook R11 include an Intel Core processor i7; M2 SSD storage; anti-reflective (AR) and sunlight-readable display; barcode scanner, supporting 1D, 1D/2D barcodes; MSR, smart card, and dual frequency RFID (low 125khz and 13.56mhz) readers; built-in E-compass; Windows 8 Professional 32 or 64 bit; Lithium polymer battery; and dual battery charger.
