Rugged tablet travels for public safety
Connecting state and local government leaders
The Datalux TM110 tablet can be used both in and out of vehicles and comes with a variety of data collection options.
Public safety officers and first responders need access to information wherever they go – from the desk to the vehicle to the field. Lightweight, rugged tablets can help officers survey and document incidents, record witness accounts and retrieve and share information. And now there's a new model for agencies to consider.
Developed for police officers and other first responders in need of fast, reliable data and communications, the Datalux TM110 rugged 11.6-inch tablet works for both in-vehicle deployments and hand-held use. The multi-touch touchscreen can be controlled by hand or with a stylus, and the display is easily viewed in direct sunlight.
Tough enough to withstand drops of up to three feet and weighing less than 2.8 pounds, the Datalux TM110 is compliant with MIL-STD 810G rugged standards. It runs Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8.1 Pro and features built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi that allows it to connect to access points or in-vehicle network devices. Users can connect through USB to vehicle modems and other peripherals, and there’s an option for 4G LTE to connect to cellular networks (for Verizon customers). Users can choose either the Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor, and the tablet can also be configured with GPS for mapping and automated vehicle location.
With data collection options -- including readers for barcode, RFID, smart card and mag stripe cards -- emergency response crews gain better and more vital information on-site and officers can more quickly complete accident reports so they spend less time at dangerous roadside traffic stops. These optional add-ons let public safety officials decrease response times, streamline processes such as incident reports and lower costs.
The Datalux TM110 is also equipped with Trusted Platform Modules 1.2 for hardware security, enhancing remote or local access through secure user authentication and machine attestation.
The TM110 rugged tablet is available with Datalux’s backlit keyboard that can be singlehandedly clipped and unclipped from the vehicle mount.
