Navigator Award Finalists: Government Allies and Cross-Sector Partners Category
Connecting state and local government leaders
We’re in North Dakota to roll out the first 10 finalists in our Navigator Awards program.
MINOT, N.D. — When we launched Route Fifty’s Navigator Awards program this spring, we were hoping to receive submissions for nominations from all over the United States so we could have a jurisdictionally diverse pool of 50 finalists. The implementation of good ideas in state and local government—the driving principle of the Navigator Awards—isn’t limited to large cities that typically dominate headlines. Good work is being done every day in places like Minot, a North Dakota city with approximately 46,000 residents located about an hour south of the Canadian border.
This week, we’re rolling out the 10 finalists in the Government Allies and Cross-Sector Partners category and one of the finalists is from Minot. (Other finalists in this category are from places like Baltimore; Chicago; Charlotte; Iowa; Miami; and a county in central Illinois, among other places.)
In the coming weeks, we’ll announce the remaining 40 finalists in the four other Navigator Award categories: Agency and Department Leadership; Executive Leadership and Data and IT Innovators.
When we were thinking about the types of challenges that states, counties and municipalities are facing these days, many of the solutions are coming through cross-sector collaborations with non-governmental stakeholders including non-profit organizations, philanthropies and citizens groups. In many states and municipalities, budget resources remain tight and government officials and practitioners rely on cross-sector groups to make their communities better places to live. That’s the focus of the Government Allies and Cross-Sector Partners category.
Stay tuned as we roll out the individual and team finalists this week ...
