Lockheed Martin unifies recruiting and hiring in the cloud
Connecting state and local government leaders
The company, with NGA.NET, releases StaffAcq360, a cloud-hosted recruiting and hiring system designed for federal agencies.
Federal agency managers looking to recruit and hire quality candidates can now do so more quickly and inexpensively in the cloud.
Lockheed Martin and NGA.NET are offering StaffAcq360, a cloud-hosted recruiting and hiring system for federal agencies. Developed by Lockheed Martin, StaffAcq360 uses NGA.NET’s eRecruit talent acquisition system and is available as a software-as-service subscription from Lockheed. The solution runs behind a secure firewall in Lockheed Martin’s Federal Information Security Management Act-compliant cloud, the company said in a release.
Currently, organizations purchase and use the majority of recruiting and hiring technologies separately, which increases cost, manual effort and chance of error, company officials said. Because StaffAcq360 is integrated, it reduces these issues, they said.
Through a Web portal, agency managers will be able to improve their organizations’ recruitment process by having access to advanced tools and enhanced reporting, search, security, selection and onboarding capabilities.
Lockheed Martin is the federal government’s largest provider of human resources systems and services, said Elmer Nelson, director of human capital solutions at Lockheed’s Information Systems & Global Solutions division. As a result, the company is able to apply its experience supporting approximately 2 million federal and uniformed personnel to StaffAcq360, he said.
Driven by big data and social networks, cloud-based recruitment and hiring solutions offer organizations a new dimension of data intelligence mining, allowing companies to achieve a deeper understanding of current and potential candidates, according to an article in Wired.
Oracle, another company with a heavy presence in government agencies, also offers a set of cloud-based human capital applications. For instance, the Oracle Taleo Cloud Service lets managers recruit talented workers and align those talents to meet mission goals as well as collect relevant information throughout an employee's entire lifecycle.
