The photos include metadata that describes the images, which users can download.The site also has mapping tools or links that let users highlight, zoom and download images by street address, municipality or county as well as by the tile or identification number.New Jersey's Office of Geographical Information Services developed the application after receiving funds from the state IT and Transportation departments, New Jersey Transit, and the federal Geological Survey and Natural Resources Conservation Service.Orthoimagery is one of the primary framework data layers recommended by the Federal Geographic Data Committee to help agencies improve operations, reduce costs, and improve information sharing and decision-making. The state will use the orthoimagery layer to develop other GIS layers including geodetic control, government boundaries, hydrography, elevation, transportation, critical infrastructure, and land use or land cover.New Jersey chief technology officer Charles Dawson said the warehouse will provide critical information for homeland security and emergency response initiatives.. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has awarded a contract to Convergys Corp. of Cincinnati to integrate human resources and payroll services for its 46,000 employees.By contracting out the services, the state expects to save $63 million over five years. Convergys will hire many of the state's HR workers and open a new facility in Austin, in addition to existing offices in Austin, Brownsville, Houston, Kileen, Lubbock and Pharr.Convergys also provides integrated human resources services for the state of Florida.. Miami Beach, Fla., has awarded a $1.7 million contract to Tyler Technologies Inc. to provide a full suite of integrated financial software.The Dallas company will supply software, professional services and support to implement integrated financial software for managing the city's financial, payroll, human resources and citizen services applications. The company also will provide related Internet extensions to enhance the city's ability to interact with job applicants.The software, which replaces an outdated system in use since the 1980s, is expected to cultivate business relationships with the public as well as streamline internal processes, city officials said. Miami Beach has a population of about 100,000.
