The annual GCN Awards honor public sector IT teams whose technical ingenuity, resourcefulness in the use of IT and tactics in managing projects have had an extraordinary effect on the ability of agencies to carry out their mission. Nominate your team's project today!
GCN is looking for nominations for outstanding federal, state and local government IT projects and their management teams. Nominees will be considered for their impact on the performance of government and the value of agency systems to the public.
The annual GCN Awards do not recognize individual accomplishment. Instead we honor public sector IT teams whose technical ingenuity, resourcefulness in the use of IT and tactics in managing projects have had an extraordinary effect on the ability of agencies to carry out their mission.
The GCN Awards represent an opportunity for agencies and the IT industry to recognize the work and commitment of these teams, including the contribution of specialists and staffers who often make the difference between a project that meets most of its marks and those with outstanding originality, value and productivity.
In submitting your nomination, please follow these basic guidelines:
Be as specific as possible in naming or identifying the project nominated as well as the core team members responsible for its success. Please limit the number of individuals to 10.
The judges will be looking for projects that rose above the norm in several areas, including:
- The scale of the challenge taken on by the team.
- The originality of the technology solution; whether it breaks new ground in the use of tools or approach to problem solving.
- The tactical skills the team has shown in efficiently developing a solution or building a system.
- The impact of the project or solution on the public purse and the public’s experience of government services.
- The impact of the project on the speed at which services are delivered to the public, end users or agency customers.
- The extent to which the project is replicable or could serve as a model for other office, agencies or departments.
- The productivity of the team given its size and how long it took to provide deliverables.
Please submit the name of the project as well as core team members responsible for its success.
