Explore Route Fifty's 2017 Newsmap
Connecting state and local government leaders
We have a big country to cover. Take a look at what we wrote about this past year via our interactive map.
As 2017 winds down and a new year starts, we here at Route Fifty, like many publications, have been taking a look back at the year that was, the stories we wrote and the issues we’ve been following.
As has been a Route Fifty tradition since we launched in 2015, we’ve plotted our state and local stories on a map allowing you to explore our national editorial footprint.
The United States is a large place and while the Route Fifty editorial team is small, we can still cover a lot of ground in year. What you see on the map below is not everything Route Fifty published in 2017. As our loyal readers know, we feature stories from our partners at Atlantic Media and organizations doing work in the state and local government space. Those stories are not plotted, nor are news roundups and some other Route Fifty stories where we couldn’t necessarily pinpoint a location associated with the story, like a city hall, agency office, state government building or the bridge in Ulster County, New York, that Gov. Andrew Cuomo demolished back in January.
While our team was regularly out on the road covering stories, Route Fifty physically didn’t get to all the locations on the map, but the miracle of modern telecommunications helps us cover more territory.
So, explore the United States via our 2017 editorial coverage, from the small town of Morton, Washington, to the halls of power in Washington, D.C. Below the map, you can also scroll down through our coverage alphabetically by location.
Onward to 2018! Thanks for reading.
