Canon CanoScan LiDE 35
The CanoScan LiDE 35 is the new entry-level model in the LiDE scanner series from Canon USA Inc. of Lake Success, N.Y. The lightweight, compact, inexpensive flatbed scanner improves on its predecessor, the LiDE 30, by adding a USB 2.0 port and a button for scanning documents directly to an Adobe PDF file.

HP LaserJet 2300L
Hewlett-Packard Co. has produced another winning printer. Now, I must admit that I have an HP bias. HP printers are what I worked with in the Senate, use at home and recommend when people ask me what printer to buy. The LaserJet 2300L lives up to my expectations.

Telecommuting made easy
When I started telecommuting, I was surprised to find very little software geared to the average federal telecommuter.All you really need to do basic office work at home is a computer, an Internet connection and an e-mail address. More advanced work such as accessing secure databases, for example, might require costly applications and arrangements outside the scope of this review.
